Important VA Exchange Note
Virginia is transitioning its Exchange from healthcare.gov (FFM) to its own State-based Exchange platform – Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace – for Plan Year 2024.
All agents who plan to sell Virginia Marketplace insurance plans for plan year 2024 will need to be certified for Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. The 2024 certification training through Virginia's Insurance Marketplace will allow agents to sell on the Virginia Health Benefit Exchange for Plan Year 2024 beginning November 1, 2023.
NOTE: Agents will not be able to sell Virginia Marketplace plans through the FFM beginning Nov. 1, 2023 for Plan Year 2024. The Virginia Insurance Marketplace training does not apply to 2023 coverage through healthcare.gov.

Renewal (Returning Broker) Registration Requirements

Producer authorization expires two years after the date it is issued. MHBE will notify authorized producers 60 days before expiration and provide instructions as well as the due date for the renewal application.
