Aetna announced a rate pass for Q4 2018. There are no changes to their portfolio or underwriting guidelines.
Aetna offers competitive rates in the two lower tiers: Silver and Bronze. Their Bronze HSA and PPO rates are very competitive in Regions 1 – 11 for Northern California and Regions 18 and 19 for Southern California. This is attractive to groups that are looking to keep the employer's costs to a bare minimum. In addition, Aetna will allow wrapping with Kaiser for groups in order to offer the lowest cost HMO plans available in these regions.
New Business Aetna is continuing their current submission deadline for new business:
