Anthem Blue Cross of California Q3 Update

There are no plan changes.  Anthem reports a low quarterly average increase of 1.0% for HMO plans and 0.8% for PPO plans.  Their continued price advantage along with a strong network, excellent provider discounts, and service consistency will continue to buoy their sales.  What is more, the following underwriting promotions will extend through Q3 (Sep. 15) effective dates:

• Multiple Networks Promo : 2 PPO + 1 HMO, OR 2 HMO + 1 PPO
• No DE9C for groups with 3+ enrolled
• 25% Relaxed Participation for groups with  5+ enrolled
• 65% Relaxed Participation for groups with 1-4 enrolled
• IFP is a valid waiver
