More Network Flexibility through December 2022 Effective Dates
For groups effective August 1, 2022 through December 15, 2022, Anthem Small Group will be allowing additional network flexibility allowing you to offer both PPO networks alongside the different HMO combination.
Employers can select one of the following pairings:
- Any 1 HMO network (Full, Select, Vivity or Priority Select) alongside both PPO networks (Full and Select), OR
- Any 2 HMO networks (Full, Select, Vivity or Priority Select) alongside both PPO network (Full or Select), OR
- All 3 limited HMO networks (Select, Vivity, and Priority Select) alongside both PPO network (Full or Select)
With this additional network flexibility, you can better position Anthem’s HMO networks when offering Vivity to the market.
Earn more in 2022 with Anthem's California broker commission incentive program
Anthem's broker commission program has returned for you to earn more rewards in 2022! Sell a new Small Group medical case with 5 or more enrolled employees with a September 2022 effective date (September 1 or September 15) and you can earn 7% commission for the life of the case.

Q4-2022 Rate Update
There are no changes to plan designs or underwriting guidelines. Quoting is now available.
Statewide average change for the quarter shows:

Underwriting Reminders
All current underwriting promotions have been extended through the end of 2022. This includes:
- Network pairing options
- No DE-9C for groups 3+ enrolling
- 25% participation for groups 5+ enrolled; 65% for groups 1-4 enrolled.
- IFP is a valid waiver (on and off exchange)
Voluntary dental and vision participation update: previously voluntary required 5 enrolled. The new participation requirement is a minimum of 5 eligible and 2 enrolled.
