Anthem Blue Cross Q2 Update

Anthem Blue Cross will have a rate pass and no plan changes for Q2 2021. Their new “No DE-9C promo down to 3 enrolled” and current promos run through June 15, 2021.

New! No DE-9C for groups with 3+ enrolled. This excludes virgin groups. A prior carrier bill is required. Underwriting reserves the right to request more info.  

Network Pairing 

• 2 PPO networks alongside 1 HMO network
• 2 HMO networks alongside 1 PPO network
• 25% Relaxed participation for groups 5+ enrolled; 65% for groups 1-4 enrolled
• IFP as a valid waiver 

Site-of-Service Savings Reminder
We also want to take this opportunity to highlight Sight-of-Service Savings. Members can save significant money by receiving services like lab, x-ray, and outpatient surgery at a free-standing facility instead of a hospital.  The Site-of-Service flyer illustrates the cost differences.  In one example, a PPO, EPO, or HSA member pays $0 copay for lab service at a free-standing facility versus $231 at a hospital.  
How does a member find a freestanding provider?  Members should use the provider search tool, select Find Care, and search for “Independent Laboratory” in their zip code/county.
