SmartShopper is a program that offers members cash-like incentives to shop and receive certain procedures from lower-cost, in-network providers.
What’s new beginning 1/1/2025?
- SmartShopper is expanding to LG ASO 250+ as a buy-up effective 1/1/25.
- Fully Insured and ASO buy-up members may access SmartShopper via SSO from Sydney under Programs and in Find Care related search results upon renewal beginning 1/1/25.
SmartShopper is a good fit for employers seeking to give employees more control over their healthcare costs. It offers incentives that encourage employees to get the most value from their plan and plan programs. The vendor supports employers in promoting member engagement.
Common “shoppable” procedures fall into over 90 categories. Examples include:
- Diagnostic procedures.
- Imaging.
- Lab work.
- Physical therapy.
- Joint replacements.
Members search for nearby, in-network providers of services they need, select a low-cost option and incentive level based on the cost differential. Then, they’ll receive incentives after a matching claim is paid. Rewards range from $25 to $500.
