Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona recently shared that they are negotiating with American Vision Partners (AVP) as they were notified of their intent to leave the BCBSAZ network. We are pleased to share that AVP, which includes Barnet Dulaney Perkins, Southwestern Eye Center, and Retinal Consultants of Arizona, has agreed to a contract extension, and will continue in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona provider network as they work to finalize the new contract agreement.
With this extension, the contracts for all lines of business except Medicaid will now expire as follows:
- Barnet Dulaney Perkins: 11/30/22, out-of-network 12/01/22
- Retinal Consultants of AZ: 11/30/22, out-of-network 12/01/22
- Southwestern Eye Center: 1/14/23, out-of-network 1/15/23

- All IU65 Grandfathered and Transitional/Grandmothered plans
- All Commercial plans
- Medicare Advantage
- Medicare Supplement Senior Preferred plans
- FEP
