As part of Blue Shield's ongoing commitment to enhancing security for all users, they are pleased to announce that the 2-step verification feature is now live on Broker Connection. Account security is paramount to Blue Shield, and this additional layer of protection will help safeguard you and your client's sensitive information.
What is 2-Step Verification
2-step verification, also known as multi-factor authentication, adds an extra layer of security to your account beyond the traditional username and password. This simple yet effective process, also used by banks and cellular companies, requires you to input a unique code sent to your email, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access your account.
Benefits of 2-Step Verification
- Enhanced Security: Even if your password is compromised, unauthorized access is thwarted until both verification steps are successfully completed.
- Mitigation of Attacks: By reducing reliance on passwords alone, we make it considerably more difficult for unauthorized individuals to breach your account.
- Protection Against Threats: The added layer of security acts as a barrier against phishing and social engineering attempts, keeping your account safe from fraudulent activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Our 2-step verification aligns with HIPAA and PHI requirements, ensuring the protection of sensitive health data.
- Empowerment and Convenience: This feature gives you greater control over your account and personal information while maintaining quick and easy access.
