Trio HMO network continues to grow
Blue Shield is happy to share that, effective July 1, 2021, Brown and Toland Physicians joined their growing network of Trio ACO providers serving Alameda County. This applies to all lines of business that offer Trio HMO.
Brown & Toland Physicians is a medical group with one community of doctors and healthcare professionals who share a single vision: deliver the best care by making it possible for doctors and patients to make medical decisions together. This expansion adds over 200 Brown and Toland physicians to the Alameda County network, as well as Alta Bates Summit Hospital and Children's Hospital & Research Center in Oakland.

Expanding networks in Monterey and Santa Barbara
Blue Shield of California Trio HMO and Tandem PPO networks continue to grow with Aspire Health (Monterey) and Sansum Clinic (Santa Barbara) joining Blue Shield networks effective January 1, 2022.
Aspire Health is owned by Montage Health and Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare system. This partnership grants members access to providers well-known for high-quality healthcare in the Monterey community: Montage Health, Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP), and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. This expansion applies cross lines of business.
Sansum Clinic is the oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient healthcare provider on the California Central Coast, focused on maintaining an innovated approach to evolve the level of care available to the community. This expansion only applies to Small Business, Individual Family Plans, and CalPERS.
