As part of Blue Shield's product transformation and portfolio simplification efforts, 3 DPPO plans will be withdrawn from their Specialty portfolio beginning January 1, 2025. Blue Shield will email each broker with a list of impacted clients.
Dental PPO plans withdrawing effective January 1, 2025:
- Smile℠ Deluxe 50/1500/Ortho/MAC
- Smile℠ Deluxe Gold 50/1500/Ortho/U85/NR
- Ultimate Dental Plus PPO for Small Business 50/2000/Ortho/MAC/NR
Groups with enrollment in one of the 3 plans being withdrawn will be automatically mapped to a recommended plan during 2025 renewal. See mapping grid for list of withdrawn plans and corresponding recommended available plans. Moving your client to a different dental plan early will help ensure an easier renewal experience come 2025.
