On Friday, June 23, Blue Shield is launching an additional tool for your electronic data interchange (EDI/834) file clients – perfect for those times when benefit updates are needed before their regularly scheduled file feed.
Your EDI clients will receive full editing capabilities in the Employer Enrollment Tool. With full access, EDI clients have the option to use the Employer Enrollment Tool to address their access to care and escalation benefit administration needs.
Things to note:
- The Employer Enrollment Tool is not replacing the established enrollment feed. This is an optional channel for immediate needs and access to care enrollments.
- Submissions through the enrollment tool must also be made to the next file to avoid overwriting the submission.
- Blue Shield will provide an in-tool acknowledgement and post submission email to help remind you to update your file.
Your clients will be notified of their Employer Enrollment Tool access on Wednesday, June 21.
