Be prepared for evacuation, especially if you are near a wildfire. And remember your pets!
Pack an emergency bag:
- Food, water, and medications for you and your pets
- Batteries
- Flashlight
- Cash
- First-aid kit
- Phone chargers for the car
- Blankets
- Key documents
- Hand sanitizer
- N95 masks ˗ Covid-19 and smoke is a dangerous combination, as both affect the respiratory system, making those exposed to the virus more vulnerable.

Carrier Resources
Remember, many EAP services can help you navigate wildfire emergencies. For example, Guardian’s EAP services have helped members find hotels so that they can safely evacuate with their pets.
Unum’s EAP services are available at 800-854-1446 to help with disruptions to transportation and child/elder care, along with resources, and counseling.
Sutter Health Plus facilities may be closed due to the fires; members who are impacted by the fires or power shutdowns can go to sutterhealthplus.org/community-alert for information about receiving healthcare services, scheduled services, prescription medications, and more.
Anthem Blue Cross members can call 833-285-4030 to find and receive care during a crisis.
