UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits has taken several steps to help members access care and to provide financial relief. As the environment remains dynamic, they will continue to update their COVID FAQs.
For Employers
Extending the COVID-19 renewal program: UnitedHealthcare will renew groups with 2-499 eligible lives at existing rates or better until December 31, 2020 (previously through September). This applies to fully insured Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability, and Supplemental Health plans.
Reducing dental premiums: UnitedHealthcare Dental is providing a 50%, one-month premium reduction in July 2020, reflected on June 2020 invoices.
For Providers
Enhanced reimbursement rates for dental care providers: In-network dentists who are enrolled in electronic payments will receive $5 to $10 increases for certain services related to routine exams, emergency services, and initial evaluations for children and adults.
Dental contracted providers may be eligible to access a portion of UnitedHealthcare Dental’s $10 million COVID-19 relief package.
For Members
