As of Friday, March 15, 2024, Village Medical Clinics (VillageMD) ceased operation of their medical clinics. These clinics were inside Walgreens pharmacies in the Orlando, Tampa, and Gulf Coast areas.
These closures will affect approximately 7,500 Florida Blue members who were using VillageMD as their PCP. These members were sent a letter during the week of March 8, 2024, alerting them that their PCP was ceasing operation and providing instructions for selection of a new PCP. VillageMD has been removed from Florida Blue's online provider directory.
Florida Blue is also reminding members that there can be no continuity of care, because the VillageMD providers will not be available after the closures.
