Jun 01, 2021
Starting on June 2, 2021, advertisers in the United States must be certified by G2 as a provider of health insurance before they can advertise on Google. Insurance providers who are licensed to sell health insurance will need to apply for this program. Government advertisers are exempt.
Google’s updated Healthcare and medicines policy requires health insurance advertisers to do the following
- Identify themselves to G2 as a health insurance provider
- Certify to G2 that they are permitted under state and/or local laws to lawfully promote and sell health insurance
- Identify whether they are registered with the U.S. government to promote and sell ACA-compliant health plans
Advertisers can apply for online certification with G2. U.S. advertisers that are certified by G2 must then be certified by Google before they can begin advertising.
