Health Net Life Insurance Company Small Group PPO plans are no longer offered in the Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) marketplace as of January 1, 2023.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Rest Easy: Existing employer groups and members will keep their CCSB Health Net PPO plan until the end of their plan year in 2023.
- At renewal in 2023, they will need to pick a new CCSB plan with another carrier or the employer group may consider other Health Net options off Exchange.
- Health Net PPO plans will be available off-exchange through Health Net of California, Inc. in 2023.
- Employer groups and their employees will be notified of their plan updates via US mail. The letters will state that their plan is being closed upon their group renewal date, on or after 8/1/2023. While it is true that their specific plan will not be available, Health Net is working hard to offer PPO comparable plan choices to affected groups and their employees.
Health Net is NOT exiting the market! They are simply changing regulators and transitioning their PPO Plans from the CDI over to the DMHC. Health Net is offering groups currently enrolled in their PPO plans coverage in a new, simplified portfolio, which includes new PPO plan options.
