Kaiser Permanente® unveiled several initiatives to create stable housing for vulnerable populations in Oakland, CA:
- About $5.2 million has been committed from The Housing for Health Fund to acquire a 41-unit housing complex in East Oakland. The new joint-equity fund is a partnership between Enterprise Community Partners and Kaiser Permanente@. Residents will also have access to supportive social services.
- Kaiser Permanente® and Enterprise will launch a $100 million loan fund to create and preserve multi-family rental homes for low-income residents throughout Kaiser Permanente@ service areas. Enterprise matched a $50 million commitment from Kaiser Permanente for a total of $100 million available for investment.
- Kaiser Permanente® is working with community partners to secure housing for more than 500 people in need of homes in Oakland who are over 50 and have at least one chronic condition.
