Az Blue Retail 90 Benefit, members will save time and see cost savings on maintenance medications!
Retail 90 allows members to get up to 90-day supply of maintenance medications at a local retail pharmacy or by mail order through OptumRx. Additional advantages to Retail 90 is fast refill times and it allows consumers to consult with their pharmacist in person.
New Pharmacy Discounts Now Available
AZ Blue pharmacy benefits are now even better! A new discount program called Price Edge is now automatically in effect for all covered members with our pharmacy benefits in our fully insured, ASC, or balanced-funding plans (ACA plans are excluded).
Price Edge, administered by Optum Rx, scans discount card pricing for generic prescriptions, compares in real time, and applies the lowest price available. This happens automatically with no action on the member’s part.
Members don’t have to shop multiple channels, which improves their experience and reinforces the value of their pharmacy benefit. Plus, members can use the benefit when shopping for non-Specialty generic prescriptions, whether they are covered or not.
- Price Edge is free for clients and is an automatic benefit for eligible groups.
- Price Edge applies to only generic prescriptions (non-Specialty).
- Discounted pricing happens automatically when members fill their prescriptions (for eligible drugs).
- Price Edge works for both covered and non-covered generic products.
- Claims that utilize Price Edge (on and off benefit) can be seen in the member’s claim history.
