Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona announces that an online cost estimator tool is now available to members via MyBlue. Logging in is required.
Beginning in January 2022, health insurers and group health plans were required to a provide price transparency tool that gives members the ability to access real-time estimates of their cost-sharing liability for health care items and services from different providers. The price transparency tool is required to make available personalized out-of-pocket price information as well as the underlying negotiated rates and allowed amounts for all covered health care items and services. This will include prescription drugs when that part of the rule is finalized.
As of January 1, 2023, insurers and plans were required to provide personalized, out-of-pocket cost estimates and other price related data for 500 identified "shoppable" services. These are required to be disclosed via an online service tool. On or before January 1, 2024, the online self-service tool will be expanded to include cost estimates and other price related data for all covered items and services.
