Effective January 1, 2023, new subscribers to CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (collectively, “CareFirst”) BlueDental Preferred (High and Low Options) over the age of 19 will be subject to waiting periods for
major dental services (Class III and Class IV).
This waiting period does not apply to renewing subscribers and dependents over the age of 19.
The intent is to apply the waiting period to new subscribers. We are in the process of updating the contract language for improved clarification of this intent.
