With the end of the COVID-19 National Emergency on May 11, 2023, health-plan related extensions will end on July 10, 2023.
During the emergency, those deadlines were extended for up to one year. The extensions ending are for:
- Enrollment requests due to a qualifying special enrollment event:
- Loss of eligibility for other coverage
- Marriage
- Birth
- Adoption/placement for adoption
- COBRA election periods, COBRA premium payments, and notifications of disability.
- Member submitted claims, appeals, or requests for internal or external review of adverse determinations.
Any extensions still in effect will end on July 10, 2023, and standard deadlines will apply.
