Based upon a federal mandate, retroactive enrollment requests for members may be submitted up to one year following the member’s effective date; this will remain in place until 60 days after the federal emergency is lifted.
Terminations or updates for existing members must be submitted within 90 days of the member's requested effective date. For example, if Sutter Health Plus receives a retroactive request on July 15, 2022, the effective date could go back up to two calendar months to May 1, 2022. Sutter Health Plus does not process requests received after 90 days, except for special enrollment or COBRA enrollment applications that may be affected by the Department of Labor timeframe extensions.
