UnitedHealthcare's Virtual Specialists program now includes access to specialists in sleep care and women's health, for all UnitedHealthcare business effective November 17, 2023.
Virtual Specialists provide a virtual specialist benefit to members and delivers:
- Consumer-centric medical and behavioral quality virtual specialist care for members
- Quality care through strategic partnerships with proven results
Through Virtual Specialists, UnitedHealthcare has opened access to quality care for members through virtual solutions with the goals of avoiding unnecessary care, improving treatment adherence, and offering digital simplicity to quickly get the care needed.
With the addition of virtual sleep care and virtual women’s health, UnitedHealthcare is continuing to expand access to all kinds of care and support for employees and their families. UnitedHealthcare is working to take virtual health far beyond the basics.
UnitedHealthcare evaluates virtual-only specialists and selects them based on their ability to deliver access to care, efficient delivery, and quality outcomes. These providers are contracted in network and are accessible to UnitedHealthcare members through their standard medical and physical health benefits.
The full list of virtual specialties includes:
- Gastroenterology (available in CA, FL, GA, MA, MN, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX and UT)
- Migraine (available in all states except DC, DE, ID, KS, NM and WV)
- Musculoskeletal (available in all states except DC, DE, NH, NM, ID and WV)
- Sleep (available in all states)
- Speech therapy (available in all states except DC, AK, AL, AR, DE, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MN, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OK, RI, SD, UT, VT, WV and WY)
- Women's health (available in AZ, FL, MD, MN, MD, WA)
- Urgent dental (available to UnitedHealthcare dental members only)
The Virtual Specialists benefit is embedded in all plans, and aligns with member primary care and specialist benefits.
