UnitedHealthcare has expanded their split carrier guidelines. Beginning July 1, 2018, groups are now able to write up to two staff-model carriers alongside UnitedHealthcare. Previously, only one staff-model carrier was allowed. In addition, they have expanded the list of eligible staff model carriers.
The full list now includes Chinese Community Health Plan (CCHP), Kaiser Permanente®, MediExcel, Sharp Health Plan, SIMNSA, Sutter Health Plus, and Western Health Advantage. UnitedHealthcare continues to have a low participation requirement for these groups, requiring only 60% overall participation and a minimum of five California enrolling employees in UnitedHealthcare coverage.
