Dependent Eligibility Audits
March 13, 2024
The federal Government Accounting Office recently issued a report indicating that there were thousands of ineligible dependents enrolled on the federal employee health plans, costing the government an estimated $3 billion per year.
One source of the problem was the Office of Personnel Management has never checked the eligibility of dependents enrolled on the plan. While most employers don’t maintain plans the size of the federal government, the report is a useful reminder that if employers don’t check dependent eligibility, then there are likely ineligible dependents enrolled on the plan that are costing the employer and other employees money.
This webinar will look at dependent eligibility audits – when can you do them; what to look for; and what to do when you discover ineligible dependents enrolled on the plan.
The video will start about 2 minutes after you click on the link.
