It was a busy week last week on the topic of the end of the COVID emergencies. First, DOL, HHS, and IRS issued joint FAQs on several benefits-related issues impacted by the end of both the National Emergency (NE) and the Public Health Emergency (PHE). Then Congress passed a bill that would immediately end the NE as soon as the bill is signed – and President Biden has indicated he intends to sign it. This information will provide updates on these latest developments and how they may impact your employer groups and their plans over the next several weeks.
