The end of the public health emergency (PHE) is coming on May 11, 2023. However, in California, most mandates under the current COVID-19 PHE continue to apply. At this point, WHA will continue to assess and use their COVID-19 webpage to keep employers and members updated. WHA members will continue to be covered with no cost share when they go to an in-network pharmacy or PCP for COVID vaccines, testing, and therapeutics.
As of current, the requirement to waive cost-sharing for certain testing, screening, or therapeutic services by out-of-network providers ends on 11/11/2023. This means if a member elects to obtain these services with a non-participating doctor starting on 11/12/2023, they will incur copayment and/or charges under the deductible.
