WHA is pleased to share that their transition to Optum as their behavioral health partner for mental health and substance use disorder services is on track for January 1, 2023. This move to Optum expands the network of behavioral health providers and includes an enhanced digital portal for resources, self-help evaluation tools, and provider directory.
WHA members will enjoy access to more providers, an extensive knowledgebase of tools and resources, and an easy-to-use provider directory to choose a qualified behavioral health professional.
Expanded member access and resources include:
- Virtual and in-person outpatient therapy with access to 85,000+ virtual providers nationwide, including Express Access providers who guarantee an appointment within five days.
- Medication-assisted Treatment with 4,000+ providers nationwide, including an increase to 26 Mental Health and 29 Substance Use Disorder inpatient facilities, as well as Specialty Case Management for Substance Use Disorder, Child & Adolescent Care, Eating Disorders, Geriatric, Specialized Mental Illness, and ABA Therapy.
- Care guidance through Optum's digital portal available by visiting mywha.org/OptumBH, where members can review the network of health professionals available in January and watch the video, “Get to know your covered benefits.”
By consolidating their mental health services from Optum with retail pharmacy services through OptumRx, and existing Optum Disease Management programs, WHA aims to create synergies across the continuum of care.
