With the Special Enrollment Period (SEP) approaching, Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) is a great way to give employees choice. CCSB's goal is to provide access to medical insurance for California groups. Check out their guidelines:
What are the paperwork submission guidelines?
- All guidelines remain the same with the exception of the participation and contributions.
Will you allow writing alongside another carrier for SEP groups?
- Yes
Will existing SEP groups be recertified on future renewals?
- No, CCSB does not recertify SEP groups, meaning that they will not need to move carriers at the next SEP.
Can groups previously with CCSB apply during SEP?
- Any group can enroll again with CCSB regardless of prior coverage.
How soon can SEP groups be submitted?
- Groups may be submitted from 11/15 through 12/15.
Will payments for groups who submit earlier in the period be held?
- Payments can be made online once the group is approved.
