Principal, VSP Vision Care, and Delta Dental of California have all reached out to support Californians who are affected by the wildfires in Sonoma, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties.
Principal
Principal’s EAP vendor, Magellan Health, is offering a free 24-hour crisis line at 1-800-327-7451. Callers get confidential consultations and referrals to community-based support. Magellan Health’s website features trauma resources and steps toward recovery.
VSP Vision Care
VSP Vision Care is providing no-cost eye care and replacement eyewear for VSP members and non-members alike. VSP is working directly with network doctors, business partners, and relief agencies to fulfill the eye care needs of those directly affected. Any VSP member who has lost or broken their eyewear due to the disaster can call the Member Services Support Line at (800) 877-7195 to have their VSP benefits reinstated regardless of eligibility. Non-members can contact their local American Red Cross chapter to request a VSP gift certificate.
Delta Dental of California
Delta Dental of California’s customer service center is taking calls from enrollees who, due to the wildfires, have no dentist in their area or have extenuating circumstances. They are providing access to care for enrollees and their family members who face dental emergencies or need ongoing dental treatment.
Delta is also offering the following support:
- Maintaining timely claims payment and assistance in obtaining dental records if needed
- Ensuring that enrollees don’t owe unreasonable costs at an out-of-network dentist
- Reimbursing out-of-network claims for Medicare and Medicaid enrollees
Members can get contact information and a customer service form at Deltadentalins.com. Client groups and brokers should contact their Delta Dental account representatives for assistance.
The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation will match every donation made up to $100,000.
