Is It a PCORI Fee or Is It a CERF Fee
We have seen a few articles coming out this time of the year that state ‘The Affordable Care Act includes a Comparative Effectiveness Research Fee (CERF)’ that is due July 31, 2024 on IRS Form 720.
The CERF Fee is the same as the PCORI Fee that is paid to the IRS every July 31st.
PCORI stands for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute. Instead of entities using PCORI Fees in their articles they have chosen to use CERF.
The ‘Fee’ is to be reported on IRS Form 720. The Form states Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Fee. The information is to be reported on page 2 of the form; Part II; IRS No. Line 133.
