As Anthem proceeds with the sale of Life and Disability (L&D) business to The Standard, new L&D clients will be administered by a service team and billing and enrollment platform focused solely on L&D plans. Anthem health plans will be administered separately.
The Compass platform offers clients an L&D experience with dedicated:
- Billing. Clients will receive a separate bill for L&D. Electronic invoices will be posted to the L&D platform, separate from all other lines of business.
- Online bill pay. Clients can use MyOnlineBill® to pay their L&D premium online, set up automatic payments, or pay premiums by check.
- Online administration. Clients will use an online administration tool called Compassi to submit their L&D membership changes. They’ll need to submit a separate transaction for medical and/or dental/vision changes.
- EDI. Clients can submit L&D membership changes through a dedicated EDI feed.
- Self-billing. Clients can submit L&D self-bill worksheets to LifeDisabilitySelfBilledAccountsInquiries@anthem.com.
- Group enrollment form. Beginning 1/1/2024, clients will use a separate application for L&D plans.
- Claims. The L&D claims process and contacts will not change.
Anthem is in the process of migrating existing groups to the new platform now. Migrations should be complete by March 2024. The sale to The Standard is expected to close in 2024.
