UnitedHealthcare is making it easier to write groups beginning August 1, 2022!
Lowered Participation
When writing UnitedHealthcare as the sole carrier, or alongside a staff model HMO, groups of 5+ enrolled now only require 25% participation (down from 60%).
Lowered No DE-9C Requirement
Currently groups with 10+ eligible are allowed to submit a Participation Certification from lieu of a DE-9C and ownership documentation. This threshold has been lowered to groups with 3+ enrolled.
Groups Using PEO for Payroll Only
These groups are now eligible to write alongside Staff Model HMO carriers. (effective July 1, 2022)
Keep in mind that UnitedHealthcare is offering bonus programs through March 2023.
